The Lakers big home win over OKC yesterday was proof that their Big 5 can play great basketball together. The key to the win for LA was their lockdown D on Russell Westbrook. The Thunder lead guard missed 16 shots, committed 4 turnovers and 5 fouls. He made just 4 free throws in 39 minutes. Metta World Peace and Kobe Bryant deserve a lot of credit for stepping up on defense.
As usual the Lakers shot and rebounded well but lost the turnover battle (-4) as Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol combined for 6 turns. I dissected this trend in a new article available at Hoops Habit.
