Those Passing Bobcats

Besides being the butt of many undeserved jokes about allowing big scoring nights, the Charlotte Bobcats play better defense than the Heat, Grizzlies and Clippers.  Steve Clifford is leading this team to the playoffs this season.

According to ‘Wins Produced‘ their best player this year is Josh McRoberts.  What makes “McBob” so good?  In addition to being an adequate defensive forward the former Duke Blue Devil is a wonderful passer.  He is second on the Bobcats in assists and has a 4-to-1 assist/turnover rate.

Charlotte in fact commits the fewest turnovers in the NBA.  Of the 39 players in the league with 250+ assists only eight have a turnover rate below 13%.  Two of these eight guys play for Steve Clifford:
