76′ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams has put up some sweet defensive numbers in his first NBA season. Remember his nine steal debut night in Philly’s win over the Miami Heat?

In addition to rebounding and stealing Williams has been Shane Battier like in protecting the rim. Opponents are making only 48% of their close shot attempts against the former Syracuse Orange.

Perhaps his missed time this year will cost him a spot on an All-Defensive team but I’m sure that Williams will be voted on soon enough.
