It may not matter anymore since LA is going nowhere but the variance in Jamison’s 2 & 3 point percentages is dramatic. He attempts half of his 6 shots/game from behind the arc despite his awesome 59% 2 PT FG.
Jamison has shot 18 more three pointers than the Lakers most accurate shooter Chris Duhon while connecting on 4 fewer than their point guard. This must drive Lakers fans nuts.
The other curious case is that of Jeremy Lin. He’s boosted his three point attempts from 20% of his total shots last year with the Knicks to 30% now in Houston.
Lin is still super when he’s getting to the basket but his jump shot has been nearly non-existent this year. He thrived last year from 10 feet out to the 3 point line, making 48% of these attempts. This year he is making only 36% of his mid-range jumpers. For comparison, Utah Jazz big man Al Jefferson connects on 42% of his mid-range attempts.
